Adding Goals (Organization) & Associated Activities (Required/Elective)

  • From the My Plan Page, click the PD Admin button.
  • From the drop-down, select Manage Plans.
  • Click on the name of the plan to which you want to add goals.
  • On the Professional Development Detail Page, click the 'Goals' button.

  • In the provided field, enter the name of the new goal.
  • Click 'Create & Add to Plan.'

To add an activity associated to the goal, click on the numeral (zero) under the Activities heading.

 

  • Click on 'Add' .

  • Select one of the following:
    • Community - a list of available communities  will appear.  Click on 'Add to Goal.'  In the provided field, the plan administrator can provide instructions regarding this activity.  Click 'Save and Add to Goal.'
    • eLibrary - a list of available eLibraries will appear.  Click on 'Add to Goal.'  In the provided field, the plan administrator can provide instructions regarding this activity.  Click 'Save and Add to Goal.'
    • Institute - a list of available Institutes will appear.  Click on 'Add to Goal.'  In the provided field, the plan administrator can provide instructions regarding this activity.  Click 'Save and Add to Goal.'
    • Learning Path - a list of available Learning Paths will appear.  Click on 'Add to Goal.'  In the provided field, the plan administrator can provide instructions regarding this activity.  Click 'Save and Add to Goal.'
    • Other Activity
      • Option 1 - a list of previously written activities will appear.  Click on 'Add to Goal.'  In the provided field, the plan administrator can provide instructions regarding this activity.  Click 'Save and Add to Goal.'
      • Option 2 - Create a New Activity - Complete the following fields:
        • Type of Activity - use the drop-down to identify the type of activity.
        • Name - write the name of the activity
        • Notes (optional) - the notes written in this field will be visible to all users assigned to this activity.
        • Maximum Hours Possible
        • Activity Date - if known, enter the activity date.  If it is left bland, the users will be required to provide a date and number of hours.
        • Required - if checked, the activity must be completed in order to achieve the goal.  The activity will automatically appear under the goal.  If unchecked, the activity will become an elective activity and part of an activity bank tied to the goal.
        • Approval - if checked, hours submitted for this activity must be approved before they will be counted in the activity owner's total hours.  If unchecked, approval is not needed.
    • Click Save.
